RE: Analog to digital TV conversion

Two boxes needed for two TV's unless you always want to watch the same thing on each TV.
OOOPS! you could watch the VCR on one and a live program on the other.
Watching different live broadcasts on each TV requires two boxes.

RE: Hwy 34 from Eastern Colorado to Estes Park

2 lane...not much elevation gain (or anything else, boring road section)....can't comment on construction......someone else????
Who are you kidding? Hwy 34 goes up the Big Thompson Canyon. About a 2600+ foot rise in elevation in 15 miles (and remember you start at 5000' in Loveland). Google the road and see if you can find a 100 yard stretch without a sharp curve?
OP, use hwy 36 going up and take a drive with your truck down the canyon to decide if you want to exit that route.

RE: Why used gas motorhomes so expensive?

Every used Rig out there was purchased NEW by someone. Do what ever floats your boat.

RE: Screw Through Eternabond?

If the screws are going through the eternabond, don't worry about it. They will seal as they go in. If you are overlapping the edge of the eternabond and the screws are going through virgin sidewall, then put buytl tape or some other sealant under the trim. JMHO, lou

RE: Grease and rear brakes on MH ?

What you probably saw was the bleed valve for the brake piston. Do not remove the plastic dust/dirt cover and DO NOT try to grease this fitting. This is not a grease zerk.
I'm not sure what chassis you have, but you may have missed some grease fittings, if it is a Ford, on the drive shaft and/or universal joints.

RE: Towels beside the toilet issue???

Great ideas. Let's not move the towels. Let's just teach all our boys to squat when they pee, and maybe they will never learn that it can be done standing up. Better yet, let's give them all girls names and they probably will never even attempt it. Problem solved. Gotta love these RV forums for answering our serious camping questions.

RE: Shore cord direct to inverter?

I don't understand " I guess I would have to somehow disconnect the charger wire that goes back to the batteries from the RV."
I think the OP was referring to needing to unplug the converter so as not to try to charge the batteries using their own inverted power.
You instructed him correctly to turn off the converter.

RE: What won't Eternabond stick to?

Eternabond will not adhere well to silicone caulk. Clean as much of that off as possible. Overlap what you can't remove and you will be okay.

RE: Rear brake repair on F53 chassis with pictures.

I do my fronts every spring. I've only done the rears once on my '97 F53. I do monitor the temperatures with an infrared thermometer rather closely.

RE: Battery negative cable gauge

I assume you mean 6/0 cable. Don't worry about it. You really can't go too large.)

RE: CPAP and dry camping

Most CPAP machines will run on the smallest of small inverters. if you don't have access to an inverter some CPAPs have a 12volt power option.
One good deep cycle battery will last several nights, at least.

RE: Why Didn't You....Part II....

Dave, it appears that you have provided an answer with all five of your questions (they were questions weren't they?) that satisfies your perception of Full time RVing.
Some (most) folks don't see all the things you listed as negatives, or they have learned to avoid or ignore the negative aspects of each situation by broadening their horizons through travel.
Full timing in not for everyone, so I suggest you not consider it until you reach the point that you ask, why NOT?, rather than why. In the mean time don't ask us to defend our lifestyle to you.
Have a great day, lou

RE: I heard a rumor about a manufacturer, is it o.k. to tell it?

Sounds like the one manufacturer is trying to sell you one of their Rv's to me.
No, I was actually just getting a part and got into a conversation about the state of the RV industry.
The parts man heard it from the person serving soup in the company cafeteria who heard it from the dish washer. It must be true.

RE: Slide toppers

My original slide topper was/is A&E. Only lasted 11 years. I just replaced the fabric (deluxe heavy) for $150. I guess I wasted my money. I hate when that happens.;)

I can't see a broad demand for this service, but I've been wrong more often than right.

RE: Slide toppers

Because I'm kind of bull headed, I might try to come up with some sort of solution. And, I think a call to Prevost is in order. If anyone knows anything about slide toppers, it will be them.
What makes you think (Prevost) would know more than anyone about slide toppers?

RE: inverter question?

I'm assuming what you are observing is a thermostatically controlled fan in the unit (inverter/charger? converter/charger?). This would be normal.

RE: Slide toppers

I've never heard of a slide topper with a disconnect device. You might better decide to forgo the topper in your situation.
